In the southwest of England lies
a terrific and very quaint region
that many Americans “think of”
when they picture the countryside.
It’s called Devon. I grabbed this
wonderful thatched-roof cottage on
the way down to Brighton...known as
the “English Riviera” because it is
sunny so much more of the time than
the rest of England.
This was a terrific
bed-and-breakfast
stopover, with a
full “farmer’s
spread” of eggs,
ham, sausage, made-
from-scratch biscuits and last
but not least...fresh strawberry jam with a delicacy for which Devon is renowned--sweet clotted cream!
