The African Cape Hunting dog is a very rare sight and we were very lucky during our last day of game viewing to see a pack of fifteen dogs romping and playing. When we finally got close enough for pictures, the dogs were heading for the shade and we were heading for the airport. I would have loved to have stayed with them all day. What fasinating animals! This photograph of one walking to the shade was taken at Kirkman’s Kamp in South Africa during the University of Mary Washington’s President’s New Years Travel Club trip for 2008/2009.
